Orange Tunisia Partners With Eutelsat To Launch Satellite Internet Service

Orange Tunisia has announced a collaboration with Eutelsat to introduce a satellite internet service to connect remote areas where traditional internet infrastructure is either absent or poorly developed. This initiative makes Orange Satellite the first provider in the country to deliver satellite internet speeds of up to 100 Mbps.

The launch comes after a strategic partnership was established between Orange and Eutelsat a year ago, focused on expediting the deployment of satellite services throughout Africa and the Middle East. Initially, the rollout targeted countries such as Jordan, Senegal, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, but plans call for future expansion across the broader region.

Eutelsat’s KONNECT satellite has previously enabled similar broadband services in Côte d’Ivoire, helping to bridge the connectivity gap in regions without access to 4G or fibre networks. As a result of this partnership, Orange Satellite now provides comprehensive coverage across Tunisia, leveraging Eutelsat’s cutting-edge technology.

This state-of-the-art system offers significant improvements over earlier iterations, featuring enhanced performance with higher bandwidth, stable signals, and faster data speeds, even in the most isolated areas.

Orange has emphasised that this offering is part of a larger strategy to deliver reliable satellite solutions, both low- and high-orbit, that complement its existing terrestrial networks.

Two tailored packages are now available to cater to the needs of users, particularly professionals in remote regions who consider reliable internet access a fundamental driver of progress.

“Through Orange Satellite, Orange Tunisia reaffirms its commitment to innovation and digital inclusion,” the operator stated. “We are dedicated to narrowing the digital divide by ensuring broadband internet access reaches as many people as possible throughout the nation.”
