Eutelsat has announced the renewal of several capacity agreements with Viewsat, enhancing their long-standing partnership and mutual commitment to the growth of the broadcast industry in Egypt and the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

In this renewed collaboration at the strategic 7/8° West video hotspot, Eutelsat and Viewsat will continue to provide reliable broadcasting services that cater to the specific needs of Egyptian broadcasters. These agreements underline the strengthening ties between the two companies and emphasise the significance of the Egyptian market in Eutelsat’s regional video strategy.

ViewSat, part of the ViewMedia group, is a global media service provider that specialises in content distribution and delivery across various platforms. They offer tailored, cost-effective broadcast solutions for broadcasters of all sizes, including managed playout services, online streaming, and satellite broadcasting.

The Eutelsat 7/8° West video neighbourhood stands as the foremost broadcast position in the MENA region, reaching 66 million satellite TV households and distributing over 950 channels.

Over the years, Eutelsat and Viewsat have cultivated a robust operational partnership, integrating Eutelsat’s satellite infrastructure with Viewsat’s media distribution expertise and customer support. This collaboration enables broadcasters to benefit from reliable service continuity, operational flexibility, and adaptable solutions that meet evolving market demands.

Raymond E. Rahm, RVP MENA Sales of Eutelsat’s Video Business Unit, stated, “These renewed agreements further emphasise the strength of the long-term partnership between Eutelsat and Viewsat. Together, we remain committed to sustainable growth, market development, and delivering dependable satellite solutions to broadcasters and media clients across Egypt and the wider MENA region.”

Awaes Jaswal, Chief Executive Officer of Viewsat, expressed, “We are thrilled to renew our capacity agreements with Eutelsat across its satellites serving the East and MENA beams. This renewal showcases the strength of our partnership and our joint commitment to expanding business in Egypt, a vital market for Viewsat. We eagerly anticipate continuing our collaboration with Eutelsat and enhancing our services together.”
