On Saturday, 15th October 2025, the president of the 46th Cairo International Film Festival, Hussein Fahmy, officially opened the second edition of the Cairo Film Market during the Cairo Film Industry Days.

In his opening remarks, Fahmy warmly welcomed the market’s guests and acknowledged the support of various companies and institutions, as well as the participating distributors.

He guided attendees on a tour of the market, showcasing the different exhibitor spaces and the services available this year. Mohamed Sayed Abdel Rahim, the director of the Cairo Film Industry Days, expressed his excitement about the launch of the second Cairo Film Market, noting that the success of its inaugural edition paved the way for increased participation this year.

With over 20 production companies and supporting institutions involved, the market demonstrated its positive evolution in fostering a professional ecosystem that enables filmmakers to forge genuine partnerships and advance their projects.

The Cairo Film Market has become an essential event in the Arab film industry, offering a specialised platform for participants to present and develop their projects while staying up to date with the latest trends in production and distribution.

This initiative reinforces the Cairo International Film Festival’s commitment to nurturing the industry and enhancing the skills of its professionals in alignment with global advancements.
