Infront Agency has renewed its agreement for the Premier League’s free-to-air (FTA) media rights in Sub-Saharan Africa, including the FA Cup rights for the region. This expanded agreement will last until the end of the 2027/28 season and will encompass 48 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, excluding South Africa.

Under this deal, Infront will distribute the rights to 33 Premier League matches each year, starting from the upcoming season. Additionally, the agency will manage the distribution of four FA Cup rounds each year, beginning with the ongoing 2024/25 season.

This latest extension marks the ninth consecutive season of partnership between Infront and the Premier League. Besides the English top flight, the Swiss agency Salso manages Ligue 1’s international media rights in collaboration with France’s Professional Football League and Serie A’s rights in 36 Asia-Pacific regions.

This renewal is part of a broader trend of international rights agreements made by the Premier League following recent deals in Malaysia, India, and Thailand.

Andreas Kaeshammer, head of football at Infront, stated, “This continuing success highlights our effective strategy in handling prestigious media rights for the Premier League across various markets.” He emphasized that bringing FA Cup matches into the fold represents a significant step in reaching football enthusiasts in a region with a passionate fanbase.

Paul Molnar, the chief media officer at the Premier League, expressed satisfaction with the renewal, noting, “We are delighted to extend our free-to-air partnership with Infront in Sub-Saharan Africa until the conclusion of the 2027/28 season. This renewal reflects our shared dedication to a region filled with devoted Premier League supporters.”

Infront also mentioned its intention to enhance accessibility in the coming years, reporting that over 25 broadcasters in more than 20 African countries air matches weekly on FTA television.
