In the run-up to the forthcoming Broadcasters Convention—East Africa 2025, scheduled for May 27th to 28th in Kampala, Uganda, Broadcast Media Africa spoke with Ms Pamela Adongo, the General Manager of Sanyu FM—Uganda, about her participation in the convention.

“My decision to join this important convention is driven by a deep passion for the evolution of media and digital marketing in our region,” said Ms Adongo. “It’s imperative to share my experiences and support the next generation of media professionals. This event offers a vital platform for broadcasters to connect, collaborate, and shape the future of our industry.

Of the convention’s big issues, Ms Adongo said that “developing clear frameworks and dedicated platforms to ethically source, verify, and integrate citizen-reported content is a key item for deliberation.”

She also emphasised the importance of hyper-personalised content delivery, leveraging data analytics and artificial intelligence to create tailored programming and advertising that resonate with diverse audience segments.

Also, Ms Adongo advocates adopting multi-platform interactive formats that foster real-time engagement through live polls, Q&A sessions, and community forums integrated across TV, radio, and digital platforms.

Finally, she highlights the value of forging strategic partnerships with digital creators, educational institutions, and community organisations to co-develop diverse content and broaden audience reach.

Looking ahead, she emphasised the need for actionable strategies around monetisation, innovation, and audience engagement, along with stronger cross-sector partnerships that fuel sustainable growth.

The Broadcasters Convention—East Africa 2025 is set to convene top industry leaders, broadcasters, regulators, and innovators to explore the future of media in the region. With Pamela Adugo’s participation, attendees can expect powerful insights and practical takeaways to drive transformation across East Africa’s media landscape.
