In the heart of East Africa, nestled within the bustling streets of Addis Ababa, lies a burgeoning digital media ecosystem waiting to be explored.

On the 7th and 8th of May 2024, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, will play host to the Broadcast And Digital Media Convention – East Africa. This groundbreaking event will focus on local content, channels, and programs within the digital broadcasting ecosystem. This gathering will serve as a platform for local and international stakeholders to exchange ideas, share experiences, and pave the way for the future of digital media in Ethiopia and beyond.

Speaking about the upcoming industry meeting, Mr Benjamin Pius, CEO of Broadcast Media Africa and the Publisher of this platform, said, “At the heart of any thriving digital ecosystem is its local content. From captivating storytelling to informative documentaries, local content reflects a nation’s cultural richness and diversity. In Addis Ababa, content creators are harnessing the power of digital platforms to showcase Ethiopian heritage, traditions, and contemporary issues.”

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to delve into the world of Ethiopian cinema, content creation and storytelling through interactive workshops, panel discussions, and keynote addresses. From independent filmmakers to emerging podcasters, local creators will showcase their work and discuss their unique challenges and opportunities in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The upcoming event on 07 – 08 May 2024 promises to celebrate Addis Ababa’s rich cultural heritage and is a testament to the city’s unwavering commitment to embracing the digital future.
