Tanzania Broadcaster – Azam Media – Rolls Out IP OB Truck Powered By Lawo

Azam Media, based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, has introduced a state-of-the-art OB truck designed for modern sports production. The truck features cutting-edge technology, including a Lawo mixing console.

This new OB truck from Azam Media is customised to cater to the company’s growing range of sporting events, focusing on football matches in Tanzania and neighbouring Kenya. The truck is the result of a collaboration between Azam Media, system integrator Broadcast Solutions, and Lawo.

At the heart of the vehicle is a sophisticated audio control room built around the Lawo mc²36 all-in-one console. With built-in A__UHD Core functionality, this console provides 256 processing channels at 48 and 96 kHz and supports various audio protocols such as ST2110, AES67, Ravenna, and Ember+. It also offers an impressive I/O capacity of 864 channels.

The Lawo VSM (Virtual Studio Manager) IP broadcast control and workflow solution is the backbone of the OB truck’s broadcast control system. VSM seamlessly integrates with broadcast equipment, allowing Azam Media to customise workflows to suit specific production requirements.

Beyond the OB truck, the project includes other essential components for Azam Media’s comprehensive broadcasting operations. These encompass a support truck, three five-camera flight case production kits, a VAR van, and two C-band flyaway uplink systems, ensuring adaptability across various broadcasting environments.
