South Africa’s SABC+ has unveiled a game-changing alliance with Mangomolo, a global over-the-top (OTT) video platform. This strategic partnership is set to revolutionize the platform, offering users a host of new and exciting features.

Mangomolo’s CEO, Wissam Sabbagh, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Our work with SABC is an exciting opportunity to deliver new OTT video experiences in South Africa. We’re making it simple to expand the SABC’s offering and deliver content to audiences on whatever device they want to use.”

Mangomolo, a global industry leader, is no stranger to handling massive volumes of content. With over a billion streams every month and a viewer base of over 30 million worldwide, they are well-equipped to provide an end-to-end service to the SABC. This includes monetization capabilities, content management, media preparation, and delivery, all through a single platform. This comprehensive suite is a testament to Mangomolo’s robust capabilities, empowering SABC to maximize reach and revenue potential across all devices.

SABC+ currently features seven channels and 19 radio stations accessible via the SABC website, Android and iOS apps, and Smart TV apps.

Mr Lungile Binza, SABC’s Chief Operations Officer, praised Mangomolo as a great partner, highlighting the smooth and efficient process of working with them to enhance their digital offering. This seamless collaboration is a testament to the partnership’s success.

In addition to live TV, SABC+ offers some on-demand shows, and the selection will be expanded in the future.
