Review: Nollywood Films On Streaming Platforms This March

Many exciting Nollywood content is coming out in March, including movies and TV shows. Some have already been released in cinemas and will not be available for streaming, while others will be available directly on streaming platforms. These include Kunle Afolayan’s latest series, Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre, and the male version of The Real Housewives of Lagos.

Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre is a sequel series by Kunle Afolayan, where a traveller returns to the Oyo kingdom with orders to complete an impossible task. The cast includes Bimbo Ademoye, Sola Sobowale, and Gabriel Afolayan. The series will be available on Netflix starting March 1, 2024.

Ebuka Turna Africa Up follows Nigerian TV host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and his friends on a journey through Africa. The cast includes Nollywood actors Timini Egbuson, Zubby Michael, and Jimmie Akinsola. Episodes one and two will be available on Prime Video from March 1, 2024, with episodes three and four following on March 8, 2024.

Rainmakers is a documentary by Niyi Akinmolayan that explores the phenomenon of controlling the weather through prayers. The documentary will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting March 1, 2024.

The Two Aishas is a 2023 film starring Rahama Sadau and Maryam Booth as two friends who share the same faith and social status but come to loggerheads when their husbands contest for the same gubernatorial seat. The movie will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting March 1, 2024.

Insecure is a psychological drama directed by Benn Nwokike and produced by Abdul Tijani-Ahmed. The movie follows a devoted wife whose perfect life is disrupted by a captivating woman. The film stars Efa Iwara, Beverly Naya, and Ade Laoye. It will be released in cinemas nationwide on March 8, 2024.
