Broadcast Media Africa has learnt that ARISE News Channel, operated by Arise Broadcasting Limited, has commenced operations in South Africa and nine other countries.

In a statement by Mr Fauziya Mohammed, the Chief of Staff to the Editor-in-Chief, the news channel is available to audiences in South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe via the Multichoice/DSTV platform.

According to the company, with the new additions, ARISE News Channel is now live in 54 African countries, as it is already available to audiences in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Cameroon, Sudan, Ghana, Senegal, and Cote d’Ivoire, Francophone Africa, amongst others.

The Emmy-winning ARISE News Channel, which marked its 11th anniversary on January 31, 2024, is Africa’s premier broadcaster globally. It showcases the continent in Business, Politics, Technology, Commerce, Science, Sports, Showbusiness, and Fashion while projecting the best of Africa, its peoples, and its cultures worldwide.

The Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Arise New Channel, Mr. Nduka Obaigbena, said: “This movement to Southern Africa cements ARISE News Channel’s position as the leading broadcaster in Africa with independence and clear thinking. We are determined to celebrate the best of Africa and tell the African story in the global marketplace.

“We shall continually showcase the emerging African century, in which Nigeria and other African countries will be some of the leading economies worldwide. This is a marathon and not a dash.

“In the emerging AI-driven new information highway, no one will shape your narrative better than you.”

ARISE News Channel operates a 24-hour broadcast from studios in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria; Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa; London, the United Kingdom; and New York, United States.
