MultiChoice Implements Annual DStv Price Adjustments – Started 1 April

A A

MultiChoice has implemented its annual DStv price adjustments, effective from 1 April 2024. The subscription fees have been raised by varying percentages, with an increase of between 3.1% and 7.8% for the decoder-based products. However, the streaming-only package remains unaffected by these changes.

The company announced these price adjustments on 19 February. In comparison, Stats SA measured South Africa’s average inflation for 2023 at 6% in January.

Interestingly, the lower-tier packages offered by MultiChoice have received larger increases compared to the more expensive products. DStv Access has seen the highest increase at 7.8%, followed by a 6.9% hike for DStv Compact Plus.

In light of these significant increases, MultiChoice has assured customers that they will receive greater value on these packages. For instance, Compact Plus subscribers are set to gain access to a revamped set of channels featuring the best of Showmax’s original content.

Additionally, DStv Access will receive an upgrade to its sports offering, including SuperSport’s La Liga football channel. This enhancement will see DStv Access’ sports lineup expanded to include ESPN, La Liga, SuperSport Variety 4, and SuperSport Blitz.
