Nigerian-born Basketball star Giannis Antetokounmpo recently announced the launch of his first feature-length documentary film, titled “Giannis: The Marvelous Journey.”

The film, which will premiere on February 19th on Prime Video, follows Antetokounmpo’s inspiring path from an impoverished childhood in Greece as a Nigerian immigrant to his current status as a two-time league MVP and Finals MVP award winner.

The documentary also offers a closer look at the life of the Milwaukee Bucks player, providing insight into his remarkable track record and the challenges he has overcome.

Along with the documentary, Antetokounmpo has also revealed the launch of a new media company, Improbable Media, in partnership with his family. The venture will be headed by Antetokounmpo, his brothers, and former NBA player and ESPN analyst Jay Williams.

The basketball star’s visit to Nigeria in July 2023 was also chronicled in a homecoming docu-film produced in collaboration with WhatsApp. The documentary, called “UGO,” is now available for streaming on both Prime Video and YouTube.

This latest documentary is unique in that it is the first time the Antetokounmpo family has provided first-person accounts of their collective journey, making it an even more compelling watch for fans of the NBA player and his incredible story.
